Workbench Pre-Requisites Installer instructions
Double Click on WorkbenchClientInstaller.exe, which will be located in the network directory \\<server name>\Workbench\Setup\Client Setup
Reply Ok to this screen
- Click Next. The installer will automatically work out if you are running a 64 bit operating system and choose the most appropriate place to put the client side Workbench directory. You can change this location if you wish.
- Accept the defaults and click Next
- Click Install. The installer will now install all the files that are needed to make sure that Workbench can function properly. Allow the install process to continue.
- If the following screen appears at any stage Click Ignore. This error is caused if a previous version of Workbench has been installed. It is not a problem as the same files can be used again.
- Click Finish. Do NOT untick the Install Workbench Application files check box.
- Click on the following user option and log in as a user with Administration rights for the workstation you are installing. This is important as it allows the installer to all the locations it needs to copy files to and create the appropriate registry entries.
- Browse to the network Workbench\App directory. This directory should contain all the front end applications required to access Workbench on the client workstations. On clicking OK the installer process will work out what needs to be downloaded to the client workstation.
- The installer will now verify what instances of Workbench have been found, report any errors detected and which instances it will install on this machine. If you are happy with what is displayed click yes.
- Workbench Installer will now run for a few minutes before displaying this message
- If you wish to allow access to all instances of Workbench to all users of this workstation click Yes (the normal configuration would be Yes).
- If you do not, click No. You will need to manually copy the appropriate shortcuts to the appropriate desktops and start menus. You will need to follow the instructions in the later section "Manually Setting Up User Shortcuts".
- Workbench Installer has now finished.
- You will notice that new Icons have appeared on the desktop, and under the Start menus in the Workbench area.
- To make sure that all users can access Workbench correctly, you need to give full control security rights to the required users of Workbench over the directory c:\Program Files\Workbench
