Column widths can be customised for the Column Width Profile of the logged in user, from a right click menu on the area of the screen displaying data in columns and selecting 'Resize Columns'.
Note: This menu item is available only to users who have either the 'Translator' or 'Right Click Translation Menu' Admin Functions.
This option is available only on the screens which have been enabled for it's use. This is generally all screens where there is a grid approach to data entry.
From here you can modify the width of the columns to suit. Remember that if you want the columns to fit within the same width screen, if you make one column wider, you will need to make another column narrower.
If however you want a wider screen width (where the form design allows this) then the total width can be greater than the default total width.
The Workbench default widths for this screen will be displayed for each column on the screen. Note that the number displayed is a number of units, the exact width of which will vary with the font used.
On exiting the screen, or on clicking the Reposition button, the Position column will recalculate
To return to the Workbench default widths just click the Defaults button.
Note:
- When doing resizing, it will be saved in the Column Width Profile of the logged in user. If the user has no Column Width Profile (it is blank in their People record) then resizing cannot be carried out.
- Resizing done within a Column Profile is saved to that Column Width Profile and will affect all users of that profile
