Multi Language and Column Resizing User Guide
This module looks at the use of Multi Language and Column Resizing features within Workbench.
GENERAL FUNCTIONALITY:
The Workbench multi language module provides the ability:
- to create as many language options as required.
- to translate and view translations for buttons, screen labels and system messages in Workbench
- to allow users in one Workbench database to operate in different languages
- to enter and view custom labels
The previous custom label functionality has now been replaced with the new Multi Language module, with custom labels being simply considered part of another language.
Workbench is distributed with the table structure to support the language translations. As new translations are done (generally in conjunction with selected Clients) these translations will be added to a standard library of translated text for distribution with Workbench.
By default Workbench comes loaded with two 'Language' settings:
- Default Language
- Custom Labels
'Default Language' is the Workbench Default Text, and use of this special 'language' essentially turns off language translations for the session, and the default text (captions) will be displayed.
'Custom labels' will start off displaying the same captions as 'Default Language' (Workbench Default Text) but allow the ability to add customisations for labels through the translation screens as required.
