Profit Centre Group Maintenance
- Create a new Profit Centre Group using the New button
- The right to perform certain functions on Jobs within a Profit Centre Group can be set for each Profit Centre Group.
- These are set on the Profit Centres tab:
Maintain Jobs, Enquire on Jobs, and data entry allowed on Jobs for PO's, Time, Estimates, AR (Client invoices) and Forecasting
Similar control can be provided at the individual Job level, using the Job Access tab.
The cumulative effect of this is allowing access to all Jobs within the Profit Centres in the Profit Centre Group, plus the specific Jobs listed
People Profit Centre Groups
- Every Workbench User with a Login must belong to at least one Profit Centre Group, set on the Job Security tab in People Maintenance
- With all Jobs belonging to Profit Centres it is possible to restrict data views by limiting Profit Centres to specific Profit Centre Groups that may comprise one or many Profit Centres.
For Example:
Job Managers may be allowed to view their own Profit Centre only but admin staff may be allowed to view many Profit Centres.
- This would mean that there would be a Profit Centre Group with the one Profit Centre in it and the Job Manager would belong to that group.
- There would be a Profit Centre Group comprising many Profit Centres and the Admin Staff would belong to this group.
- A User can only view, access and report on jobs in their Profit Centre Group.
