This module looks at the use of the Labour Monitor within Workbench.
OVERVIEW
For Contracts which are labour intensive, regular monitoring of progress against budget in terms of quantities of hours is an important process.
The functionality provided allows the Job Manager to review the labour by Job / Work Centre, or by Job / Work Centre / Activity, comparing actual labour consumed with budgeted labour, through entry of a manually entered assessed 'Percent Complete (i.e. how far through the job we are?).
The Labour Monitor screen data is built up from the Budgeted Hours, Assessed Budget Hours used (i.e. Budgeted Hours multiplied by the assessed Percent Complete) and then comparing this assessment with the actual hours consumed to date. This results in a Performance Indicator indicating the labour performance on the Job, calculated as Performance Indicator value = Assessed Budget Hours / Actual Hours
The screen will display the 'Previous Performance Indicator', being the Performance Indicator from the most recent previous Monitor record. Note that for a Timesheet Week Ending Date based Monitor record it will look for the record with the most recent prior Timesheet Week Ending Date. For a Year Period based Monitor record it will look for the record with the most recent prior Year Period.
A Performance Indicator value <1.00 is by definition an adverse performance assessment (and displays in red), and > 1.00 is a positive performance assessment
The Labour Forecast is a snapshot of information at a point in time, being for a Timesheet Week Ending Date or a Year / Period.
The Edit/View Labour Monitor screen allows filtering and display of a selected Header.
