CREATE A NEW PLANT ITEM:

  • To create a "New" Plant item, go to the "Job Maintenance" Screen and press "New"

ONCE THE PLANT JOB HAS BEEN CREATED YOU NEED TO:

  • Enter the "Plant Details" Tab, then "Detail" Tab to fill out the required information regarding the Plant Item eg. Location, Chassis Number, Make, Model.
  • Enter the "Plant Costs" Tab. This is where the Rate Code for Cost Transfer Rate and Retail is stored.
  • Enter the "Plant Details \ " Tab, then "Plant Meters" Tab - Accessed through Job Maintenance, enter the Meter Code and required details for the Plant Item.

Make sure that you enter the Road User Charge Activity Code on the appropriate Meter Code.

Anchor_Toc208375281_Toc208375281 5. Set up the Road User Charges SET UP THE ROAD USER CHARGES (RUC)

The concept of Road user Charges for Plant Items applies to New Zealand only.

Charges are made per kilometre travelled by certain classes of vehicle. These Road user charges (RUC's) are purchased in advance representing kilometres purchased by individual vehicle. They are applied to a particular vehicle at time of purchase.

The Plant module manages the recording of these RUC purchases, and the display of the unexpired balance of the RUC's.

  • One meter on the vehicle will be the designated Road User Charge meter, through the attachment of a Road User Charge Activity Code to the meter. Set up the Cumulative Meters

To establish an opening position, there will need to be a Job Adjustment transaction entered against the Plant Item using the Road User Charges Activity Code. This opening transaction will be the Total RUC's purchased to date.

The quantity on this opening transaction will be:

  • Meter Cumulative Life to Date plus Road User Charges unused at that time

The transaction quantity will be used to create the initial Road User Charges Balance Available.
