The Database needs to be configured to point to various directories relating to the handling of files and integration. This section only needs to be done once per instance of Workbench.

The following should be entered as UNC paths as some are used by the SQL server and mapped drives may differ from machine to machine. :

  • Server Directory is the location of the Workbench directory that was created in the Pre-Requisites and assumptions directory and should be entered

  • Reports Directory is the directory under the Workbench directory that contains all the report files and should be entered as

  • Transfer File Directory is the directory under the Workbench directory called transfer and should be entered as

  • The other items on the page can be left. The Workbench Consultant will change them at the time of training if need be.

In the "Parameter Type" menu select , Select "System Scroll down" until you find the following items:

  • Application Display Name: This parameter is displayed in the title bar of Workbench when the user opens it. It is free text and should be as descriptive as possible to identify the instance the user is in. Typically this would be Workbench Live
  • Default Email Attachment Location: This location is used when Workbench is asked to Email a report. The created report is generated here so it can be attached to the requested email. Should be entered as the following

  • <Severname>\Workbench\Transfer\Email Attachments. This should be used only for this purpose as files are automatically deleted from this directory when no longer required
  • Report Sample Directory: This directory is the location of the .pdf samples of reports that can be used in Workbench to show the layout of a report and should be entered as

Now Select the "Data Transfer Option" from the Parameter type Menu.

  • Scroll Down until you find the following Parameters Server Transfer Directory: This directory is used for transfer data to and from a third party accounting package and should be entered as follows
